I'm curious as to what he actually said that was bad enough to get him suspended.

Brian Schwartz is just another one of CF's victims.. I may not agree with Brian's position, but we can all say, Brian sticks to his boss. But, now it is time for Brian to do the right thing. CF's house of cards is falling apart. Brian, we know you read this blog site. Its time to spill the beans on CF. Lets face it ,Brian. CF is now turning on you. Before its over CF may turn on everybody. You can be a hero to the people instead of one of CF's long list of victim's.

How much time will Carty be suspended for for all the times he's yelled and used profane language at city employees?

It's very interesting how CF punishes people for the same behavior he himself exhibits, and also punishes people who sell him their souls. Maybe we should call CF the "Marquis de' Carty Finkbeiner". or MdCF.

LOL

Perfect choice of words Kirk - Schwartz did sign a deal with satan for a job who's salary was inflated to over 70K, much more than was ever paid for that role in the past.

If a paid spokesman earning over 70K doesnt know enough to keep the profanity out of the conversation when talking to a friggin' RADION STATION he deserves to have his hands slapped a bit.

But hey, if your dignity is worth the paycheck, I guess it's all part of the job. He deserves everything he gets.

(it would be funny tho, to see him get a nice job somewhere else and write up some memoirs of his time spent with his nose stuck in lucifer's hole...)

A later version of this Blade article contains this passage:

"Mr. Reinbolt yesterday said a letter was sent in 2006 to the Marines, indicating "we did not want to have their training anymore."

Did this info come out in the original reporting of the story?

Reinbolt was with Carty when the "Carty/Jack Smith" showdown occured.

I was under the assumption that Brian Schwartz was amongst the "circle" that would have been privy to such a confrontation, but I haven't seen Brian's name amongst the few that were there, so with the information available, I stand corrected.

But Reinbolt was there. And Reinbolt's job is to "carry out Carty's orders". But the police still authorized the training session. Looks like the downhill flow stops at Reinbolt's feet, seeing Carty is on Reinbolt's shoulders.

Be interesting to see which "Marine" received this "alleged" letter.

Until we see a copy of said letter, I don't believe it for a minute.

Lies and deception flow freely from this man's mouth. I have seen him in action. Mr. Cover - up.

He is in the same league as Finkbeiner when it comes to 'disgusting'.

So, because you screwed up, you get a three week vacation. No pay, true, but it isn't like Brian Schwartz is struggling to make ends meet on $25,000 a year. If I were in Brian's shoes I'd take the time off and count it as a much needed rest.

Of course, if I were in Brian's shoes, I'd probably be negotiating with my attorney and the Toledo ambulance chasers over assault and battery charges.

Listen to Carty's potty mouth at 14:02.
May have been a "tongue twister", but I don't think so...

I heard that when I listened to the tape and thought I must be wrong!! He did, I'm not the only one who heard it then. He dropped the f bomb and quickly tried to work it into another word.

I just couldn't believe my ears! And he gave somebody else 15 days off, who didn't use the f bomb? And wasn't on the air? Wow. More hypocrisy.

If you're here to tell me it's my fault - you're right. I meant to do it. It was alot of fun. That's why I have this happy smile on my face.

... two small businessmen discussing Czarty today. They are of the opinion that His Nibs is literally breaking down, like he's having some sort of outright mental event. They then lamented the next 2 years, when Czarty will undoubtedly continue to be mayor.

I look forward to being further vindicated in my opinion that Czarty is clinically crazy and should be at least thrown out of office for mental illness. Of course, since Toledoans gleefully elected such a crazy person, the larger picture is a condemnation of the city's populace. The suffering is therefore well deserved.

I do read this blog and I am still around. . .

I'm keeping my powder dry at this time. That's all I can say.

I have received a great deal of support from Toledo media the last several days and it was truly heartening.

I'm afraid my potty-mouth has always been one of my greatest weaknesses -- especially when I'm angry. I usually keep it under control in professional situations, but it got away from me briefly.

Suffice it to say, while I did use profanity, I did not say the things that producer said I said.

Brian Schwartz

Brian and I had't really thought about your position until this happened. Sorry about that.

The only thing about being in a place like this that I can tell you is, that sometimes quality of life has to override everything else.

You work for a man who apparently dropped the f bomb on the radio and then put you on leave for using common farm language.

I wish the best for you. And thinking about your circumstances, I just feel so badly for you right now. Have some ice cream. Always helps here :-)

Kate.

If you're here to tell me it's my fault - you're right. I meant to do it. It was alot of fun. That's why I have this happy smile on my face.

What I find ironic is that you were suspended for a potty mouth by a mayor using a potty mouth to express himself.(At the same freakin station no less) While your unwavering support of the mayor has irked me, it's his unwavering lack of support for you and his staff that really burns under my skin. I realize you are/were paid to take some of his ranting lunacy, I don't think his temperment is now a service to anyone, including him.

Even the guy from the Chamber of Comerce is saying the only way out for Toledo is for Carty to quit/be removed.

Mr. Schwartz, I stand in support that you were suspended without any common sense and that the "Time doesn't fit the crime".
On a personal note, you hold plenty that would assist in his removal. Wanna play show and tell?? ;-)

I'd be happy to interview you.

Kirk is also one of your supporters on this issue, Brian.

Good luck.

"Suffice it to say, while I did use profanity, I did not say the things that producer said I said."

Just so long as you clear your damn throat before you talk, you can say whatever you want. Bearing in mind that action does have consequence, of course.

How many of us, have managers or supervisors, do something or act some way and seemingly get away with it.
The difference here is that the Mayor was speaking and uttered a word, seems unintentional, whereas Schawrtz admits he lost his patience and said something he should not have and now the boss administered punishment.

Is the punishment fitting? Is there a process to review it?

One was accidental in conversation and one was in response, or so it seems, in reaction to another kerfuffle caused over our Mayor's actions.
The Mayor ain't leaving, if anything he will run for another term, and the citizens, do not seem to want a recall, yet.
