Myers Announces Technology Initiative to Improve Open Communication for TPS Board

Toledo, Ohio. At his press conference today, Chris Myers, candidate for Toledo Public Schools Board of Education, detailed his unprecedented initiative to use technology to demonstrate the openness that he will use when he is an elected Board Member of the Toledo Public Schools.

I have stronger academics, fiscal responsibility, and openness as three of my priorities. Today I want to show how technology can improve them.

A lot of people talk about making sure our children are prepared to compete in the 21st century, but they often overlook the fact that school board members need the same types of skills.

School board members are supposed to set policy but, in such a tech centric world, our school board lacks members who can set policy and evaluate proposals that use technology. We can improve the curriculum, improve parental and community outreach, and improve communication by taking advantage of the modern tools that are available to us today.
