Mr. Sleazy?

Well, this article, http://www.toledoblade.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070810/NEWS16/70..., seems to indicate that Mr. Szollosi isn

...maybe I am seeing loyalty to party over loyalty to an individual. But what is the story on this guy? One day he puts up a ordinance or resolution that seems to call attention to the mayor's troubles, and the next, "for he good of the party". he tries to change the makeup of council (seemingly for his own benefit). How well does he represent his district, or the city (if "at large") or he is too busy making political "hay" while the spotlight shines on Carty?

("Mr. Sleazy") reflect your cynicism and contempt for Mr. Szollosi.

Besides, his official nickname is "Solousy".

I don't know Szollosi very well, but seeing him in action makes me uncomfortable. Maybe its because he is so direct. I've been accused of the same thing and people say that it makes them uncomfortable. I will commend him for having the guts and call all these wrong doers out on the carpet. People can call it grandstanding or sleazy or whatever. The fact is, we have a mayor who has not been truthful with us, has exhibited atrocious behavior toward minorities, women, the handicapped and dogs. I believe Mr. Szollosi may be saying what most of us are thinking, but we just don't have the guts to say it or we haven't got around to it yet. I encourage Mr. Szollosi to continue speaking out. His style may make me feel uncomfortable but at least someone is speaking out.

...it's a GREAT idea!

Yep, I LOVE those knock down and drag em out dem "unity" efforts; makes for great sport.

With 4 of the 8 dems openly admitting that they want Rob's job and the coyly non-committal Frank, that makes for 5 Council President wannabes.

For this one (bloodbath), I think I'm going to get out my umbrella ;-)

Oh, and a big ole tub of popcorn :)

"With 4 of the 8 dems openly admitting that they want Rob's job and the coyly non-committal Frank, that makes for 5 Council President wannabes."

Which is exactly the way Rob got in there in the first place - none of the dems were willing to work together or support one another. It's no wonder nothing gets done when everyone has their own agenda.

We Have A Winner!!! Exactly, Billy...nitwits all around on this matter. I think it's smart to have the balance that is somewhat offered in the current arrangement. Tho I'd like it better if it was an independent. :-) In my opinion, neither party is worth my joinging hands with. The Republicans are a ship at sea and the Democrats are ,.....the bulk of the problem. Most of the Coucil reminds me of the "ole Southern Democrats of my grandparents day. Shady as the day is long. Some of em are down right Bayou Serpents.

Like the saying goes, I won't join any club that would have me as a member. This is why I've become more of a connservitive Independent.

OldSouthEnd:
I believe Mr. Szollosi's thoughts, feelings, and actions are both clear and pre-date the recall effort. I assume that most, if not all, of your questions are rhetorical and coupled with your choice of subject line ("Mr. Sleazy") reflect your cynicism and contempt for Mr. Szollosi. Or perhaps you were simply confused by the Blade's article. Allow me to attempt a clarification...

Mr. Szollosi seems to believe that having a council president that reflects the majority party would result in less tension and better government. Period.

And Mr. Ludeman & Mr. Sarantou...you need not worry about council looking silly. Y'all passed silly a long time ago...
