For Sale: City-Owned Buildings and Property

TOLEDO -- If you're in the market to buy some real estate, the city of Toledo may have something for you. The city is evaluating everything it owns, and creating a "top ten list" of properties it would like to sell off.

... is why, oh why, has the city kept such properties as the Madison Bldg on their books without selling them off before now? They produced no capital influx from a sale, and also produced no property tax from use.

can use these properties to generate revenue, so could Toledo. If we had a business manager or hired our own developer.

I think they wanted to wait until property values dropped to a point where they could sell them without having any pesky ROI that might lead to a tragedy like balancing a budget without a garbage tax...
