This was a bill that was introduced in January. The smoking ban hasn't actually been reversed. From the little I scanned Hawaii's legislative website, it appears no further action has taken place on this bill yet.

Hmm

I could have sworn about a week ago there was something on the news here that smoking was going to be allowed in private clubs (like VFWs) as long as the employees were members.
I was mildly surprised that it wasn't being celebrated on the forum.

I was actually out having a smoke.

What did I miss?

If you're here to tell me it's my fault - you're right. I meant to do it. It was alot of fun. That's why I have this happy smile on my face.

is correct. They'll try going for the vets again in about a year. It was bad PR for the Nazis.

Why celebrate something that applies to only a small fraction of the public? The majority of smokers aren't members of those clubs and still won't be able to light up in their favorite taverns. The allowance for club smoking is just a sop thrown to the vets to keep them quiet. The rest of us will continue to live in a police state.

because we're getting close to mob rule or a police state-the patriot act is all I hear about from the Bush haters, but then shit like this is laughed at. It's the same thing and the sheeple don't get it. Modern Russia is becoming free, while we're going to the new neo-communism.

"....continue living in a police state?" I would choose my words carefully if I were you. I suggest you talk to someone who has actually lived in a police state or at least read about such a state before you flap your mouth off. If this was a police state you would have been pulled from your home for making that statement and you nuts hooked up to a battery.

"Neo-Coms." I love it. Keep up the good work, Big D!
