TPS Board struggles with confidentiality and Web sites at retreat

First I want to preface my report with I did not record the event. It was impossible to because the room was big, the air conditioning was turned up (loud) and there was no real good place to record. Also, below are summaries of what was said. I did not get all of the conversations and I could not hear every board member talk. I ended up getting there at 9:11. Darlene was late by about 9 minutes because I saw her ride leaving the parking lot when I pulled in. BTW all of the handicap spots were open, no one parked in them. ... when I note that Barnett, Steel and (mostly) Sykes basically spent a lot of time telling Fisher and Torres to shut the fuck up in public about their duties and issues with Board business. The TALC (Three Acting Like Children) faction (Barnett, Steel, Sykes) really can't make it any more obvious that they are firmly against public participation in the governance of the TPS. We don't elect Board members so they can run the TPS as a personal fief.

Good grief! Let's elect people with morals, come November!

what it is that Larry Sykes is so damned concerned will get out to the public anyway?

If you're here to tell me it's my fault - you're right. I meant to do it. It was alot of fun. That's why I have this happy smile on my face.

I really, really do not like this attitude. Once again, unbelievable. I wonder if Mr. Harner knows about this website and has read the notes from these meetings? It would give him a really good raw idea of what he's getting himself into.

Chris,

Keep up your presence, it seems to be having an effect ;-)

That is, until the clueless are no longer board members. . .

Keep up the good work - obviously it is making a difference.

You said, above, that Larry Sykes had a comment about the back pay being confidential information.

It isn't though - the rate, the date it should have started and all the pay rates are public information? Isn't it?
